Another adventure in collecting
I sold a Lerner deak organizer in my booth. The one I sold belonged to my daughter. It sat in the booth since last summer. I had faint hope it would sell and started using it to display a few vintage paper items. The darn thing sold Friday. I knew I had one of my own and thought I'd get it in there NFS. I looked all over the house the last 2 days, and couldn't find it. I got some organizing done, so not a total waste. I got up this morning at 6:30. It was in the 60s, so I talked myself into going to my rental to see if I could find the desk organizer there. It is a giant storage-you could park a car in there, and it is jumbled, so I had little hope of actually finding the thing. I was halfway back, passing things I had laid out the last time I was there. I glanced to the back and *awe inspiring music* there is was, sitting on a stand at the very back of the unti! I got to it without killing myself, and brought it and a pile of fresh inventory home with me.
Happy Sunday!

(3,617 posts)I was cleaning my basement because its cool down there. Found a small 10-drawer reproduction apothecary chest Id bought at a yard sale 24 years ago but never had a use for, and decided it was going to Goodwill. Brought it up and cleaned it off. I heard a rattle. Pulled all the drawers out and found first a long cultured pearl necklace, then a silver and turquoise squash blossom necklace, then a Hawaiian koa seed necklace, a silver and turquoise bracelet, a silver drop necklace on a leather thong, a tiny beaded leather butterfly brooch, a gold colored heart locket with photos and a few other things. I felt like a kid in a fantasy of found treasure. Exciting!
Luckily I know who it belongs to, and I was able to contact them. She is a long ago retired coworker who moved from Maine to Florida in 2001. The squash blossom necklace is from New Mexico and quite old; it belonged to her husbands mother. Its a happy ending!

(19,199 posts)And what a memory! I know where I got most of the stuff, but there are a few things I can't remember where they came from. I bet the coworker was thrilled to have a mystery solved!
