My husband and I collected lighters and tobacciana. Years ago, we bought a silver-toned flower petal ashtray. One of our kids admired it, so we gave it to her. Later, we got another flower petal ashtray, but gold tone and still have it. I saw a story this morning about this item, and just for fun, checked sold prices on eBay. Wow! Up to $200! Nice to know.
I offered the one we have to our other kid, not sure if she'll take it.

Years ago, we bought a Korean War Era silk jacket at a yard sale for $10. We got a bundle for it on eBay. Who knew? lol

Not any royal treatment here.

(19,181 posts)and a boatload of stuff I wish we'd never bought. A lot of times, finding the value after we bought something was a surpsrise and delight.
I'm downsizing, but if I find high sold values on things like this, I don't put it in my booth. I offer it to my kids, or rewrap and store it.
On the upside, my kids are embracing the hit in the pocketbook. One of them told me I could Christmas shop in my basement
