with more talent than I do, for sure. Watercolor? If anything, I'd try to add some welcoming "life" beyond the simple yet bright landscaping. House/roof textures - sided, gray stucco, shingles no chimney; is it really so monotone with opaque windows. Only the spring flowers/trellis seem geared to hospitality...Did you work from his/your photo or something else. Don't forget your signature/initials? Perhaps a lively matte and frame before box and ribbon presentation. I think you are definitely on the right track...and you'd soon have it mounted in the perfect spot on your friend's wall...well, because you're friends!
