Related: About this forumThis semester is painting - something I haven't done since the 60s.
So this is my 3rd painting after nearly 60 decades of not painting. (And I only painted a handful of paintings then.)

The brief was to digitally manipulate a photo I had taken. (I merged two os together and then applied a few filters.), then paint it using the palette of another artist. I used the colors from one of Georgia O'Keefe's paintings. The colors on my teal/magenta flower are closer in real life to the colors in her palette.

(33,422 posts)The contrast between the gold/yellow and the teal/lavender. The patterns suggest an almost fractals design. Very ethereal. ❤️

(38,607 posts)I really loved the Georgia O'Keefe palette I borrowed. One of my classmates suggested adding some of the teal in the border between the two flowers, and the instructor suggested extending it throughout the entire yellow flower. It really made a difference in the yellow flower - which was just kind of there before I added the teal accents
