(3,050 posts)I loved the journey of a man finding what he had lost, and everything he almost lost...a beautiful film with a GREAT score (love the old Hawaiian music).

(8,138 posts)That movie was firing on all cylinders. Well written, well acted, well edited, great music.

(29,840 posts)and maybe you can help me with it.
After reading reviews, I got the sense that the movie features what I've
come to think of as the kind of over-the-top nasty, disrespectful teenagers
that Hollywood specializes in....I argued and talked back to my own parents growing up,
but did actively disrespect disrespect them in the ways I've seen "screen teens"
do, and I honestly detest it.
How would you rate the film's teens in this regard?

(3,626 posts)the older daughter starts off in a boarding school, because she was out of control. The younger one (maybe 8 or 10) is a bit of a wise ass; mimics her sister. Those over-the-top, nasty-type kids piss me off too, but these kids, for the most part, didn't. And, again, not to give too much away, they evolve.

(2,015 posts)I was pretty impressed. I thought the acting was really good, and I think Clooney outdid himself in this one. Even the daughter's boyfriend, who was kind of stereotyped. At first I thought he was too dopey, but by the end the actor had me feeling better about the character. The music was great and I also liked the way it ended.
