Going to see "The Godfather" on the big screen.

Going to a matinee. I've seen it there. Wife has not, though she has seen the DVD. She's looking forward to it, as am I.

1. I saw it on the big screen

when it first came out. They are always cooking and eating in that movie! Somehow it's even worse on the big screen. I was pregnant the first time I saw it and I was absolutely starving when I came out of the theater. It was Monday, and of course many restaurants are closed on Monday nights. We had to look around for one that was open and served pasta. I've never forgotten that.

2. I guess it could be worth seeing the restoration

Always thought the film to VHS and DVD transfers were poorly done. Then again, as someone who has seen the film dozens of times, can’t really stomach the idea of one more viewing.

3. Review: It looked really good.

The theater didn't vibrate with the gunshots and explosions, but the movie looked great. And as usually the case, I noticed a few things on the big screen that I don't usually pay attention to (like Al Martino walking in back of Marlon Brando during the wedding scene a few minutes before he sings). The theater was practically empty. It's only playing two more days here. The film was preceded by an intro by Francis Ford Coppola. Hadn't seen him recently. He has really aged.
