TCM Schedule for Saturday, May 28, 2022 Memorial Day Marathon continues
From TCM, about the Memorial Day Marathon, which continues through Monday: TCM honors American veterans with a three-day long marathon of war films that cover the Civil War, World War I, World War II and the Korean War. Eternal questions about ethical rules of engagement and the overall utility or futility of war abound in this marathon. Yet at every turn, comradery and survival seem to be the payoff. With their universal themes of heroism, sacrifice and remembrance, many of these films temper and complicate the horrors of war with the indelible courage and heart of its soldiers.

(7,603 posts)war has always sucked was the inescapable conclusion. Humans pushing themselves to the limit to destroy...um....humans. Good film and cast though.

(10,616 posts)Unless you count "Star Wars" as one. Seriously, military films aren't generally my big thing.

(7,603 posts)watched "From Here To Eternity." Wow, no idea why that film was/is so popular. Apparently our military pre-WW2 consisted mostly of drunkards and womanizers.
Actually, I enjoy the weekends when they have themes on the classic movie channels. I usually find something worthwhile, even if it is dated.
Ha...just realized you had posted the schedule. Thank you.
