Chaikovskii's 'Piano Concerto No. 1' [The quite familiar opening, then

the beautiful rest of it perhaps not readily recognizable by me. I just listened in its entirety, but with Barry Douglas on piano. Then found this rendition which I feel surpasses others. But that's just me! 😌]

this rendition of Tchaikovsky's concerto is wanting. Just my opinion. Still very good, but.............
It doesn't help that a certain member of the audience coughs louder than the orchestra at times. But that is usually what happens during a live performance..........heavy sigh.
I have the recording of Van Cliburn and his winning performance of this concerto. Excellent to say the least. Another performer that comes to mind is Anna Fedorova. She is simply marvelous.

That's a minus about live performances sometimes.I try not to choose them if possible.

I'm hearing impaired with noises going on in both ears. Esp. when overtired, they get more pronounced. I must've missed the audience's added sound.

Mb I should swap this one with Fedorova's.
Or stuck with Barry Douglas and Slatkin.
