Liszt should be THEATRICAL and DRAMATIC.

He wrote some of the most complicated piano music ever, anyone who performs it should be a bit extra themselves. It's just not right without some flair. Maksim has it.

A musical genius, and virtuoso di tutti virtuosi.
And a showboat, IIRC.

Ya got it, flaunt it.
The opposite, I think, was Arthur Rubenstein playing Beethoven's 4th Piano Concerto.
He channeled some pretty cerebral music.
My vote for some of the most cerebral music ever is Beethoven's 32nd Piano Sonata, the last one.
But I've got lots of votes!
The "Liszt" is very long.
