Kind of a soundtrack for the times we are living through. perhaps my favorite piece of classical music.

(34,387 posts)I love Mahler with a passion. Mostly I love playing Mahler. We are doing Mahler 4 this next season. I have downloaded my music, it is quite complex . Will be listening, thank you!

(34,387 posts)Lol, love the drummer.
I play clarinet. Big part, Bb, A and Eb. Schaltracter Auf (spelling off the top of my head) nothing like playing a woodwind with the bells in the air!
Enjoy yourself, have fun!
Are you doing it soon?

Also big Shostakovich listener - esp the 4th (not an easy listen until one falls in love with it - such pain and suffering in the notes!)

(34,387 posts)I am partial to Shostakovich symphony 7. Also painful.
Have you heard the violin concerto? If not you must. I have rarely had so much fun playing it, great parts for the orchestra. It almost seems like circus music.
