(13,104 posts)It really hit me...what we've had and what we stand to lose.
When life was fun, eh?

(1,032 posts)...and while Sir Paul's closing was nice, Meryl Streep and Kate McKinnon stole the night in the UFO sketch.

(54,381 posts)fall when I copied the URL for the top YT result looking for that medley. Here's my thread then where I was corrected:
Beatles' Abbey Road released 55 years ago today - NEW article on recording + Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End

I replaced that video of the medley covered by AndyBoy 63 with videos of the three songs from the Beatles' YouTube channel, plus video of Paul doing that medley live in 1997:

(54,381 posts)I didn't know any NBC stations had cut away till I checked Twitter after the show, and I have no idea if either of the NBC affiliates in my area cut away.
But at least SNL uploaded video of Paul's performance to YouTube later. You might want to add this to your OP:

(54,381 posts)of recs even if factually wrong and fact-checked by a lot of replies). Would it be possible for you to switch that video from SNL last night for the AndyBoy 63 cover of the Beatles - the video that also fooled me last year - that you have in the OP?

(5,226 posts)I went to YouTube and found the SNL Anniversary closing with McCartney and copied.
Then edited my post, deleting the old one, and posted the new one.
Hope it worked

I love that video. I know Paul's voice isn't as good as it once was, plus he probably wore himself out doing three concerts in NYC last week (he'd originally planned only one, then added a second because so many people wanted tickets, and I hadn't even heard he'd done a third show at the Bowery, on Friday, before last night). Those shows were fairly early in the evening, too, and I'd guess Paul's usual bedtime these days is quite a bit earlier than his appearance last night. He looked tired. But it was a very moving performance anyway. I had tears in my eyes watching him. So did a lot of other people.

(5,226 posts)And when he did it last night for the closing, I just had to share it, but I was to quick and it wasnt on You Tube yet, I just posted an album version instead. I should have waited longer.
