Patti Smith - Because The Night (1978)
One of the best shows I had ever been to. Jan. 1977 Memorial Chapel at Union College in Schenectady NY. I fell in love with her that night. I had only read about her in magazines prior to this show. The Chapel is not a huge venue so we were lucky to get in considering it was a spur of the moment decision to go. The stage is about 4.5 feet high and I spent the whole show with my chest planted to the front of it. It was amazing.
Less than two weeks later she fell off the stage in Tampa and broke her neck. It broke my heart.
