Related: About this forumMartin Refused To Honor The Warranty
After having 3 pieces of Martin products, never again. I won't even buy their strings.
They claim that the guitar is "too old". It's a lifetime warranty!
They insist there is no possibility (not low probability, but impossible) that they shipped a guitar with a broken truss road.
I say it's impossible for it to have happened anywhere but at the factory.
So, their warranty is only a warranty if they feel like like honoring it.
But, today I stumbled onto a 12 string Guild at Guitar Center near our town. In mint condition! There aren't even any marks on the pickguard!
While at the store I looked up used models of this guitar. I paid $70-100 less than anything I saw online.
Couldn't take it home today. They just took it in on trade on February 21st. They have a 14 day "police hold" on anything they take in without an original sales receipt. So, I can't have it until March 4th.
I played it while I was there. Easy to play, sounds good (not quite as rich as my Carvon 980T), but nice and shimmery.
This will be my open tuned slide 12 string, which what the Martin was.
The Martin is now firewood.
