Senior clerk challenges Gila County recorder in election

Vying for the job of preserving public documents are two women who both currently work in the county recorder’s office.

Incumbent Sadie Jo Bingham has been elected Gila County recorder since 2008, while Bonnie Wolff has worked in the office for the past two years.

In those few years, Wolff said she has seen a revolving door of staff “due to the toxic work environment and lack of transparency.” She hopes to bring change to the office. That is, according to an election questionnaire, which the Roundup sent her as well as Bingham. Bingham did not respond to the questionnaire.

Wolff is currently a senior clerk a the Payson recorder’s office. This is her first public service job having worked as a gemologist prior.
