Arkansas Wage Hike Supporters Turn in Additional Signatures

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Supporters of an effort to raise the minimum wage in Arkansas have turned in thousands of additional signatures to try and get their proposal on the November ballot.

The campaign supporting the proposed initiated act to gradually raise the state's minimum wage to $11 an hour by 2021 turned in 44,665 signatures to the secretary of state's office on Friday. The proposal needs at least 67,887 signatures from registered voters to qualify for the November ballot.

The minimum wage campaign was given additional time to gather signatures on Monday after officials determined it had submitted no more than 52,124 valid signatures.

1. If you look at this article and then the one on them turning in 124,000

signatures for term limits, you begin to see how dumb this state's voters are. They want to limit experience in the legislature and deny themselves decent wages.

2. I don't think there's much experience in anything but graft and corruption

with this republicon assembly. But I don't think both petitions were set out together. I think they had different signature getters. But I do know a woman who didn't want it raised to whatever pathetic amount it was lst time because she had started work at such a much lower rate that she didn't want new people to make what she does.

3. I was asked to sign those two and the one to put casinos in the state by

same group. I signed just the minimum wage one.
