And, still, the sun came up today. A thought inspired by wedding announcements.



I happened to notice that the engagement announcements in today's Arkansas Democrat-Gazette included the coming wedding of two men.

May 9, 2014, Judge Chris Piazza struck down the same-sex marriage ban and cleared the way for a week of some 500 same-sex weddings in Arkansas before his order was stayed. Dozens, maybe hundreds more Arkansans, had and have been married in other states. June 26, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down all same-sex marriage bans. With such marriages legal, the state's largest newspaper has been printing same-sex couples' marriage licenses regularly and also no longer bars engagement and wedding announcements in such cases.

I ask you: Has the world come to an end? My own 39-year marriage to a woman seems to be holding firm. How about you?
