(14,976 posts)Turns out there was one in the Sierra Foothills 2.9 and 10 miles away Friday morning. Missed it.
Dogs are really sensitive to low frequency vibrations. Good luck to all.

There are reports of other animals responding before the actual shock wave hits.

(1,219 posts)Back when I was a reporter in the Bay Area, I wrote an article about a guy by the name of Jim Berkland. He was a geologist for the USGS who predicted earthquakes, amazingly accurately, by tracking reports of missing pets. It seems that some animals don't like to stick around if they sense an earthquake is coming.
