County hoping for permit compromise with Occupy Boulder

Boulder County Commissioner Will Toor told Occupy Boulder protesters Monday that the county won't take immediate action if they don't apply for a permit by Tuesday's deadline.

He said officials will continue to work with them on a compromise that would allow them to stay on the Boulder County Courthouse lawn on Pearl Street. But, he said, the county isn't willing to dismiss the need for a permit altogether or to allow overnight camping -- a precedent that could lead to the area becoming a permanent homeless campsite.
