Citing rising overdose deaths, U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colorado, is seeking to have fentanyl classified as a weapon of mass destruction.
Back home in Colorado, almost everyone I talk to knows someone who has died from fentanyl, Boebert said in a statement. Fentanyl is Americas silent killer and is now the leading cause of death for Americans aged 18 to 45. The saddest thing about the fentanyl crisis is that it is preventable.
Boebert added that the vast majority of fentanyl in the U.S. comes across the Southern border, and border patrol agents seized enough fentanyl last year to kill every American seven times over.

(106,585 posts)fentanyl or other widely used narcotics as part of her analgesic regime. Yes, there are alternatives, but those are largely short-lived in analgesic activity. And, NSAIDs are not always sufficient for severe surgical or traumatic pain. Most in medicine and veterinary medicine use far less fentanyl (and more morphine, hydromorphone, Dexdomitor, butorphanol, etc. ) because of abuse/theft concerns, but in the right hands, it is highly effective and reversible.
So, this moron should see what it is like to remove a legal and effective medication rather than focusing on disrupting the illegal market, the "diversion market," and getting care for those addicted.

(1,186 posts)What a useless immoral piece of rat dung. Her constituents need to wake up and kick her ass to the curb. Then she can resume breaking laws and grifting in her own community while serving up rotten food poisoning meals at her gun shop cafe.

(9,629 posts)Thought that Republicans may have moved beyond demonizing people for their chemical addictions, but then my Republican uncle made a remark about "Crack whores" this week.
So make no mistake- they only care because this is impacting white, rural America.
