Colorado
Related: About this forumColorado.... I am looking to move to the Denver area.
I want the most beautiful, fun, hip, cool. I have missed mountains too sso I was thinking west side of city so closer to mountains and could have a view. Anyway, what area do I want to look at. Apartment for now and not worried about cost. More about having fun and only a year. I am living in Uptown Minneapolis a couple blocks from a lake and across street from Lunds groceries, a block from library, lots of restaurants so I rarely drive. Oh oh and not far from a Traders Joe. Love my Traders Joe.
Does anyone have fun suggestions.

(106,571 posts)Both apartments and homes of all kinds to purchase. So, start your search with considerable homework and maybe a really good real estate agent. (beware of shysters--there are a lot of them too).
I lived for quite some time in Central Denver, within walking distance to Cheeseman Park, Congress Park and North Cherry Creek area (a pretty high-scale mall and shopping area, including a Whole Foods and close to downtown with all the cultural opportunities there. Expensive but I did like it while I was finishing a second graduate degree at CU-Health Sciences--now moved out east to Fitzsimmons.
Evergreen, Conifer, and Golden are doable foothill/mountain communities that many elect to live in (until the winter time commute overwhelms you) but it sure is gorgeous out there--Golden might be more practical.
Other areas can also be great, but commuting will be an issue--as in all big cities, but add in weather.
And, like many big cities now, it might be wise to check crime stats. Right now the major issue is car thefts. I love Denver, don't get me wrong, but not unexpectedly there are issues.

(10,864 posts)I have seen Golden pop up. My hood is pretty urban, expensive. I pay total with car garage and all, 2800 a month. Two bed and I can easily go to one bed. I do remote so I do not have to concern self with weather or commute. Thanks for info

Go for it.
At least we know for a Minnesotan, you must be used to the cold!

(10,864 posts)Have always wanted to feel Colorado and like we are saying, remote.... I can move once a year if I want so why not experience Colorado.
So Golden. How about on the way to Boulder?

(1,930 posts)If you're looking for fun and not concerned about the cost, why not Boulder? There's the Pearl St Mall and a Trader Joe's. Though you might prefer Superior with its Costco and FlatIrons mall.
