Is there a media blackout on the fracking flood disaster in Colorado?

That's the headline on a blog out of Texas. And it's a question we've been trying to get answered here in Weld County, with no luck so far. Media, print and broadcast, have shown numerous pictures of tipped/toppled/floating/leaking tanks, but the commentary is glaringly absent. Please read these blog posts. And follow the links embedded. This isn't Vegas -- what's happening here will NOT stay here.

4. I ran into a young guy that used to work in a local convenience store. He told me he works for

a Utica shale fracking outfit now. He pumps the fracking fluid into the wells. He has only had the job for a month
and is already off work because of a respiratory infection caused by the chemicals in the fracking fluid. When he was working
he got paid $13 an hour and worked 90 hours a week. I suggested he look for another job, even without the chemicals what kind of life could you have
working 90 hours a week. He said he is trying to get in a coal mine that pays $18 an hour. That's not much better but
that is the best a person can get around here anymore.

At this point it makes sense to concentrate on saving lives and keep politics out of it. It's sad that it comes down to politics, but that's how dysfunctional we are today.
