Some kind of emergency or hazmat issue at University of Delaware (Newark campus).

They've sent out UD Alerts and are asking people to stay away from The Green. They have closed DuPont Lab, Memorial Hall, Allison Hall, Morris Library, Brown Lab, and Drake Lab until further notice and have evacuated the area. Our son was evacuated from Allison and said they've been closing/evacuating buildings since noon.

I'll update if I find out any more info.

Are doing a controlled detonation on the center green and to continue to stay clear from the area.

University personnel were quoted in Delaware Online as saying it was "an 'isolated hazardous materials situation' related to an experiment in the lab, which is closed until further notice.

The semester just started 2 days ago. I wonder what chemicals a newbie mixed together in the wrong proportions.
