Frontline: Supreme Revenge: Battle for the Court. On channel 26-4 tonight at 9:00 p.m.

For anybody still watching TV over the air, like me.

It was on last night, past my bedtime, so I missed it. Maybe tonight. Unless I fall asleep in front of the flat screen.

I know; I know. I can watch it anytime I want. Thank you, and now get off my lawn.

One key point is that Mitch McConnell has had his sights set on creating a conservative Supreme Court since Bork days. What is not addressed is why.

I can understand deeply religious people wanting to abolish abortion, and empower churches. I can understand craven greed that seeks to do the bidding of corporations for money and favors. You don't need a conservative court for that.

From what I can tell, McConnell is neither deeply religious, nor basing his actions on any deeply held philosophical principles.

He started out as a democrat and was married to a dynamic feminist first wife.

I can understand the individual desire to have power, but cannot fathom what is really behind his steadfast goal in having a conservative court.

What is driving this guy?
