Florida attorney general confirms criminal probe into Tate brothers' visit to state

The Tate brothers are under investigation in Romania on accusations of human trafficking and money laundering.

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier on Tuesday said there was an "active criminal investigation" into the presence of the brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate in Florida after they flew here from Romania.

Uthmeier's comments on the internet personalities and self-proclaimed misogynists were posted to social media by Forrest Saunders, an EW Scripps television reporter based in Tallahassee.

"These guys have themselves publicly admitted to participating in what very much appears to be soliciting, trafficking, preying upon women around the world," Uthmeier said in an interview outside his Capitol office. "Many of these victims are coming forward, some of them minors. People can spin or defend however they want, but in Florida, this type of behavior is viewed as atrocious.

"We're not going to accept it," he added. "They chose to come here and set their feet down in this state, and we're going to pursue every tool we have within our legal authority to hold them accountable. ... We have secured and executed subpoenas and warrants, and we're going to continue to move forward with full force of law. This is an ongoing criminal investigation and we're going to use every tool we have to ensure that justice is served."

And it's not just " someone said". They said it. It is from their own lips.

It may also a shrewd move by Desantis. MAGA is split on the Tate bros. Some welcome them. Some are mad that trump played a part in their release and that others are embracing them.

Desantis may be trying to set himself up as the "real deal" against sex traffickers - in case he wants to run again in 28. JD Vance is following Tate. That would be a good argument against Vance in a primary. You supported sex offenders. We prosecuted them in FL.
