Chicago news legend Joel Daly dies at 86

(7,732 posts)Joel was a icon in Chicago. I grew up with him on our little tv.
I was little and remember Joel and Fahey Flynn and thought "adults blah blah". As I aged I remember Joel from before his retirement and thought "what an exceptional human being" with his humor and his side activities. I do miss him.

PJ Hoff, the famed weatherman wore one occasionally, but it was a sort of trademark for Fahey.
Those were the earliest days of me actually watching the news.

(475 posts)I also remember as a 9 to 13 year old thinking these adults were sooo boring. Now I wish we had sane adults on TV news. (local broadcasts)
