OMG, it just figures, doesn't it?
Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul and a pair of environmental organizations asked Cook County Circuit Court Judge Thaddeus L. Wilson last year to rule on failures of the building operator to comply with environmental laws.
The building at 401 N. Wabash Ave. operates without a proper state environmental permit, does not accurately report water discharge levels and violates at least three other laws, according to the lawsuit. Wilson said those facts were well founded and not materially challenged.
*snip*
Trump Tower failed to follow state and federal regulations that protect the health of the Chicago River, Raoul said in a statement. All entities no matter who they are must be held accountable when they willfully disregard our laws.
A building owned and operated by the Trump Organization has been ruled a "public nuisance" due to violating state and federal environmental regulations and demonstrating zero concern about the issue? Who'd a thunk it?

(18,850 posts)The laws he obeys are ones that don't require any particular effort. I think he pretty much ignores laws until and unless he gets caught (like with the environmental laws this article talks about).
Most people try to avoid breaking laws and are chagrined at finding out they've broken one without realizing it. Not Donald. He does whatever he feels like doing, and if that involves breaking a law, he doesn't care unless he gets caught breaking them (and if he does get caught, his only concern is evading or minimizing any ensuing consequences).
The case described in this news story is absolutely typical for him - and for Don Jr and Eric, who are also implicated in this due to their positions in the Trump Org. and have no doubt been taught by dear old Dad that people who voluntarily take responsibility for their mistakes are "losers."
