Champaign Co. may close polling locations with lack of election judges

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — The Champaign County Clerk is looking for last minute election judges.

Election judges have been processing voters for weeks ahead of the April 1 general election. Now, less than a week away from the date, Champaign County Clerk Aaron Ammons said some polling locations could have to close if they don’t have enough people to help.

Ammons said they’re down about 20 people to have the minimum number of three judges working all 46 locations across the county.

He said voting in every election is important, and it helps to give people as many places as possible to exercise the right.
