CARROLL — Two-term U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst, a Red Oak Republican and the first female combat veteran to serve in the Senate, says she will seek a third term in 2026.

In an interview in Carroll with Iowa Mercury and the Carroll Times Herald following an economic-development event on Wednesday, Ernst, 53, left the door open to a possible cabinet position in a second Trump administration if the former president prevails in November. Trump vetted Ernst in the 2016 cycle as a possible vice presidential running mate.

Asked directly if she planned to seek reelection to the U.S. Senate in 2026, and to rate her likelihood on a scale of 1 to 10 for a third-term bid (with 10 being most likely) Ernst said, “That is my intent. So I would say, yes, 10 very likely. I love representing the people of Iowa, and it really has been a very fulfilling position for me to be able to fight for rural America. Of course, important to me as well are our veterans and Armed Services.”

6. I'd be very interested to know the growth of her net worth since 2015

How much is the soul of the first female combat veteran to serve in the Senate worth?

How much to support a monster that has no respect for the military?

How much to support a monster that has no respect for women?

How much to abandon oath of office?

3. Ernst should take those plastic bread bags she so proudly refers to:

,.. due to extreme poverty when growing up ,.. Joni would use those old plastic bread bags as winter galosher boots to keep her feet warm and dry as she trudged back and forth to her public schools classes during the coldest Idaho winters of her youth.

They were so poor when she was growing up they could not afford boots nor boot straps so she was forced to make due as best she could in the face if extreme poverty and financial destitution.

May I suggest good old home spun Joni take those plastic bread bags and put them over her head and secure them tightly - to suffocate herself as promptly as she can. So then the voting public no longer has to put up with or hear her khrishtun - down home - fabricated but home spun - stupidity and other assorted nonsensical bullshit political ramblings.

Please suffocate yourself so you meet your demise sooner rather than later - Thank you very much Joni.

who talked about castrating pigs?

We used breadbags as well or anything my mother found to keep us dry. Not a big, sad story like she wants you to think. Lots of kids I knew were the same. You do what you have to do. The sad part were the kids who did not even have that.
