Anchorage assessor has much lower value on Matt Bevin's house than PVA

FRANKFORT, Ky. — While the Jefferson County property valuation administrator recently valued property where Gov. Matt Bevin lives at $2.97 million, the City of Anchorage values the very same property at a much lower $2.2 million.

And the city’s take on how much the now-controversial mansion is worth is likely to be emphasized by the governor as he presses an appeal of the Jefferson County assessment.

In March, a company that Bevin owns purchased the home and an accompanying 10 acres for $1.6 million from a company owned by Neil Ramsey, an investment manager who is an Anchorage city councilman and has donated to Bevin's campaigns.

The Courier-Journal has reported that the sales price appears low compared to the Jefferson County PVA’s new valuation, which applies to the mansion and a larger tract of land that includes nine additional acres that Ramsey’s company did not sell.
