the area right around Acadia is less so. I guess it depends on your goals as far as the hat.

Living in the south we don't have much need for beanies. I'll see if I can dig out my black one.

We're going to Boothbay Harbor & Boston as well.

Thanks

3. Do Cons really know what a pussy hat is?

I mean they may have noticed when everyone was wearing them in protests down the street. But would they recognize just one by itself? Is Fox making them a thing again?

My daughter wore a purple pussy hat for years when she was 6 or 7 about 25 years ago. So, they are acceptable hat wear under normal conditions.

The coastal spots, more urban, and metro areas are really quite politically progressive.

The more rural and back water areas can get very tRumpie red neckie.

Enjoy your getaway trip to Maine. Safe travels -have fun. Bring a nice camera for hi-def photos.

*** cotton long underwear is not so bulky for traveling. On your outing day take a walk around and assess the days weather so you can dress accordingly to your comfort zones. You can always just wear the thermal long johns top but not the bottom under you day clothes. Then like we do here - over dress to keep warm. Then take off layers so you don't sweat.

*** light Polartec and a nice sweater is a real good idea and maybe a light wool hat. Your pink woman's hand knitted Washington DC Anti-tRump marching and battle helmet would certainly be a nice touch.

It is not heavy fur lined winter coat weather just yet. But if that excites you stop back for a round trip visit about January or February.

All kidding aside,.... the weather is not oppressively hot and muggy any longer. In matter of fact the fall foliage burst of colors as the leaves change should be spectacular when you venture by these parts up north.

Have a wonderful journey.

I am located in lower central Maine area. As you travel up the coast to Bar Harbor and then to Mount Desert Island turn your head to the left and wave out the window. If I am not too busy and catch your wave - I promise to wave back.

Be well,.. be safe,.. and enjoy your trip.

If sky is clear, you will see Milky Way

Unfortunately, they will not open the road to the mountain at night.

I'm nervous about driving in the dark since I bet it's reeeeeally dark.

I haven't heard anything about a boat ride but it sounds wonderful!
