By NICHOLAS P. FANDOS, CRIMSON STAFF WRITER
Kings withdrawal leaves Harvard Law School professor Warren and immigration attorney Marisa DeFranco as the only two remaining Democrats vying to represent their party against Republican incumbent Scott Brown in November. Warren has been considered by most political analysts to be the clear frontrunner in the Democratic race since she entered it last fall.
Kings campaign released a statement yesterday afternoon that said after much thought, King had decided his campaign was no longer benefiting his party or the Massachusetts electorate.
The review has also made clear that the most effective way to achieve our goals has changed, King wrote in the statement. Now, we need to give Elizabeth Warren our support to beat Scott Brown in November.

(135,425 posts)They're still neck and neck, a lot of work to do yet, but I think she'll be able to do this with a lot of hard work and most importantly, a lot of GOTV on election day. I'll be doing my thing on that day--my "schtick" is driving people to the polls.

(135,425 posts)I figure I'm on my way to that stage in life myself, so I might as well get my karma (or Car Ma--most of my passengers are grannies!) in while I can!
I encourage everyone I meet to drag a neighbor along to the polls--it's a social thing to do (unless, of course, they live in a GOP stronghold...in that case, vote early, and have a noontime Beer Keg party and invite all the wingnut neighbors...hee hee!).

(28,656 posts)I really like Elizabeth. What an asset she'd be in the Senate.
I'm going to send in another donation. A small one, but every little bit helps.

(3,026 posts)...she'll get two extra votes from my wife and I. We should be moving up there in May if we can find a place that takes big dogs.

(14,128 posts)MA Dems, progressives, liberals seem to appreciate and respect her more than they do their own Senior Senator. She gets lauded for caring about the middle class, while he gets hated on here and out in social media land by people on our side for being rich like Rmoney.
Interesting they don't go after Brownie more instead attack those on our side. Know that the good folks here may pile on me for saying that, but it's just an observation.
P.S. in TN where it's bright red, very little gets done. Be glad you have some decent public servants that still give a flip about you.
Peace.
