DANVERS, Mass. Four teenagers have been indicted in the beating of a developmentally delayed man who was attacked in a Danvers, Massachusetts, park last month, police said. ... Christopher "Ducky" Anderson, 43, was assaulted on Oct. 12 in the area of Holten Richmond Middle School and Plains Park, officials said.
On Monday, a grand jury indicted Christian Ramos, 15, of Lawrence, and Danvers residents Armani Mendez, 15, Landon Chesna, 15 and Daeson Margarin, 14, according to Essex Country District Attorney Paul Tucker. ... Warrants were also issued for two other juveniles, however state law does not allow people under 14 to be indicted. ... Tucker said Anderson was lured into the woods behind the school where he was attacked by the six juveniles. The assailants allegedly kicked Anderson and threw a bike at him, officials said.
Anderson and his mother spoke out about the attack. ... "It breaks my heart every day. I can't sleep at night time. It is hard. Can you guys do more for me, please?" Anderson said. "I was really, really afraid of them always. I was scared to death of them those kids."

...I found myself thinking that parenthood should require a license. Who is raising these barbarians1?
Stories like this are a big reason I still feel that way. You need a license to cut hair, for gawd's sake. Anyone who can copulate can become a parent - no ability other than fertility required.

Keanu Reeves says (I am paraphrasing) "Ya know, Mrs. Buckman... you have to have a license to buy a dog or to drive a car... hell, you even have to have a license to catch a fish! But, they'll let any butt-reaming asshole be a parent."
