Royalston and Petersham to hold town elections on April 6 with few contested races

Short of a write-in campaign, Royalston will see no contested races in its upcoming town election.

In Petersham, the only contest is for a three-year term on the Board of Health.

In Royalston, Steve Egan is running for a three-year term on the Selectboard. Egan was one of three candidates who ran in last April’s town election to fill the year remaining in the term of Shelby Bronnes, who resigned from the board in January 2025. Egan and Chris Deveneau were defeated by Linda Alger.

There is no candidate for the position of assessor. Incumbent Athol Royalston Regional School Committee member Kiley Hall is running a write-in campaign for reelection.
