Old Town Negaunee property on the Aug. 6 ballot

NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WLUC) - On Aug. 6, voters will decide whether or not to rezone five acres of Old Town Negaunee.

The five-acre property is at the corner of Snow Street and Cyr Street.

If voters say “Yes,” the area would be rezoned back to public use. If voters vote “No,” the area would stay as is.

“I believe it’s a very bad decision to change what’s already being highly utilized. It’s already loved by so many citizens,” Plummer said. “Any advantage to developing it is purely hypothetical and could easily go the other way.”
