Trustee wins Scio Township Supervisor's race amid ongoing computer crimes case

WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI - A current Scio Township trustee is slated to take over as supervisor after winning nearly 59% of the vote in Tuesday’s Democratic primary.

Jillian Michele Kerry, a trustee since 2022, beat John Boyle, a 44-year resident with a background in consulting, by 801 votes, according to unofficial election results.

Kerry will go unchallenged in the November general election, as no Republican candidates filed for the seat. She is slated to replace current Township Supervisor Will Hathaway, who did not file to run for re-election.

Kerry’s win comes amid an ongoing felony case over accusations that she forwarded an email from Hathaway’s address, according to a report from the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office.
