Sheffield top fundraiser in Detroit mayor race but two others raise over $100K in months
Detroit City Council President Mary Sheffield remains the top fundraiser in the competitive race to be Detroit's next mayor.
Sheffield raised $162,830 between October and December 2024, bringing her total available funds to $467,852 as of Dec. 31, according to the latest public campaign records. That gives Sheffield a sizeable money lead over other candidates at this early stage in the mayoral race.
Sheffield's contributions included a broad mix of corporate donors and small business owners. The Rock Holdings Inc. State PAC, affiliated with billionaire Dan Gilbert, gave $13,000. Cindy Pasky, CEO of Strategic Solutions Inc., donated $8,000.
