Prisoner sentenced 24 years for killing leader of international child porn ring in Michigan prison

MILAN, MI – A prison inmate who admitted to killing a convicted child predator in federal prison a month after the man was sentenced has been sentenced to additional prison time for his role in the brutal assault.

United States District Court Judge Paul D. Borman sentenced Adam Taylor Wright, Oct. 12, to 24 years and 4 months in federal prison for the death of fellow inmate Christian Maire who was beaten and stabbed to death in the Milan Correctional Facility in 2019, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The sentence will run concurrently and consecutively to the sentences of imprisonment he is serving in other cases.

“Deterring violence inside prisons will always be a priority of this office,” said U.S. Attorney Dawn Ison. “Senseless acts of violence that jeopardize the safety of employees and inmates of the Bureau of Prisons will be aggressively prosecuted.”

1. Not a rare phenomenon in Fed prisons, even more so in state prisons so that those who

bemoan murderers not getting the death penalty-- believing that they "got off easy" with life without parole-- might want to rethink. Maximum security prisons do not or can not control this kind of violence and those sentenced there will experience it and the fear of it, continually.
