My husband worked in law enforcement for a number of years. He told me back in the 80' s that domestic calls were the most dangerous. He came home one night to tell me he went on a call where the husband and wife had shot and killed each other. He ended up holding the, now orphaned, five-month-old baby until Child Protective Services could get there. He said the baby was the cutest, happiest little thing. He felt so sorry for this girl, he just wanted to bring her home. Just sayin' domestic violence hurts a whole circle of people.

May the perpetual light of God shine upon them. I understand what it's like to not know if your spouse will come home from work or not.

The kids were victims of an abusive parent. There is zero said about a mother, if she was there.

I just wish the community leadership and media would express compassion for the 7 kids! They were utter victims, inside a house with a huge gun fight going on. How terrifying.

My heart goes out the kids, but not exclusively.

For the children

For the 1st responders
