Trump administration launches investigation into U of M for antisemitism

The University of Minnesota is one of five universities that is under federal investigation for reports of antisemitism.

On Monday, the U.S. Department of Education announced it is launching probes into the U of M’s Twin Cities campus, Columbia University in New York, Northwestern University in Illinois, Portland State University in Oregon and the University of California, Berkeley. The agency says the investigations are in response to the “explosion of antisemitism on American campuses following the Hamas massacre of Israeli civilians on Oct. 7, 2023.”

“Too many universities have tolerated widespread antisemitic harassment and the illegal encampments that paralyzed campus life last year, driving Jewish life and religious expression underground. The Biden Administration’s toothless resolution agreements did shamefully little to hold those institutions accountable,” said Craig Trainor, Acting Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights, in the announcement.

In response, the U of M said it “will fully cooperate with this investigation.”

The U also has a lot of DEI programs, one at the university level and several at the college levels (Associate Deans for DEI).

1. Fascist leaders always get control of the intellectuals and universities first thing.

They are a big threat to a totalitarian regime.
They must be destroyed or brought under total control.

Trump could not care less about DEI.
It is the control he wants.
And the cruelty, he enjoys that a great deal.

4. Anti-semitism is widespread and intense in right-wing-land. But they side with Israel because they hate the swarthy

brown-skinned Muslim Palestinians more ("clean them out!" ). And for their many evangelical types, part of fulfilling their version of Bible prophecy.

Edited to add - Clarification: in the above, "for their many evangelical types", I was referring to the U.S. right winger evangelicals, not the Israeli ones. And the "fulfilling their version of Bible prophesy", I was referring to the End Times and Jesus returning to earth.

who thinks Israel is necessary for the "end times" and Jesus' return.
