I suspect that many in Minnesota who, too, would be affected, are currently represented by Republicans. Emmer? Lewis? Not sure about Paulsen. But we don't hear any of them at least express some sympathy. In a town hall meeting? Yeah, right.

(30,225 posts)one of the hardest summer jobs I had in Kansas was cutting the milkweed plants out of the soybean fields just before harvest with a combine.
The milkweed had to be cut down by hand with a machete so when harvested a week later it wouldn't flavor the beans.
You walked up an down the rows (plants up to your armpits, all kinds of bugs and snakes and stuff) and cut each milkweed you found.
I could process 20 acres a week. Got paid around $200 for the job.
Probably some sort of targeted chemical weed killer for GMO soybeans now.
But yeah, the farmers in Iowa are going to be really pissed even if they themselves don't export soybeans... the drop of the exports is going to glut the domestic market lowering the per bushel price for everyone.
The farmers are gonna get screwn.

The tariff is going to hit this corporation hard. I haven't seen much in the media, save for articles like this: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-monsanto-results/monsanto-misses-profit-estimates-as-corn-disappoints-idUSKCN1HC1GX
