Could Al Franken Make A Comeback? Amy Klobuchar Said Former Senator Has A Third Act

Could Al Franken Make A Comeback? Amy Klobuchar Said Former Senator Has A Third Act
BY MARIE SOLIS ON 4/15/18 AT 2:43 PM

There may be more to come for former Senator Al Franken, who resigned his post in January after facing sexual misconduct allegations from multiple women.

At Sunday’s TimesTalk panel for women senators — which featured Senators Susan Collins, Joni Ernst, Heidi Heitkamp and Amy Klobuchar — Klobuchar said she expects her former colleague and friend to make a comeback.

“He’s had two acts and he’s still going to have a third,” Klobuchar, a Democrat from Minnesota, told the crowd about Franken.

The Minnesota Democrat said she’s stayed in touch with Franken, and spoke to him just this weekend.

The Democratic Party showed it wants nothing to do with him. I doubt he runs for office again.

All she's saying is that he's not done. Of course he's not. He'll find something to keep himself busy, but his days representing this country have been taken away.

Funny, I don't recall being asked about that. All I saw was a Roger Stone dirty trick bought hook line and sinker by a bunch of democratic party suckers who should have known better.

the people. And it wasn't the Democratic Party that showed it wanted nothing to do with him, it was some elected democrats.

Read Al's book Giant of the Senate. Chuck was not too keen to his campaign and did nothing to help him in his first election.

Al was blunt about it.

All the allegations "coincidentally" stopped when he said he would step down.

They will resume once he runs for office. They will never stop and he will have to spend too much time explaining. Remember, he never flatly denied a-la Whiny Donny or Roy Moore; he just said that he could not recall and apologized and, of course, this infamous photo from the USO tour will appear everywhere.

He can do a lot of things without necessarily running for office. Finding and encouraging young people to run for office will be a start.

What a great presence he had. Reminded me of Barbara Jordan in his clarity of speech.
