Minnesota
Related: About this forumDuring presidential race, we look at picking a running mate as a first executive decision
and we often judge them by that.
In this light, I am questioning the decision by the endorsed gubernatorial candidate - Murphy, a St. Paul resident - to pick another metro are resident - Quade - as her running mate.
We know that there is a lot of mistrust between the metro area and outstate. Thus, I think that decision by Murphy could cost her.
Not everyone, of course, wants to "reach across the aisle," to compromise, to try to bring all six million of us together. But I think that widening the gap is hurting all of us.
Just my opinion..

"The Erins" are my kind of ticket but I have concerns about outstate voters and we can't win with just the metro and Duluth. Too many voters (everywhere, not just in rural areas) get suckered by whoever runs the slickest ad campaign. I've already heard the ticket referred as "urban liberals" and while that works for me, it's not going to play well in greater Minnesota.
I'm glad I have a couple months to fret over this and see how things look before the primary.
