Deputies responded to the house in the 6400 block of Oriole Avenue just off Hwy. 7 about 10 a.m. after a woman called 911 to report that her son was suicidal and threatening her with knives and a baseball bat, according to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

When deputies arrived they first used a Taser before two of them fired their weapons. Amorosi was pronounced dead at the scene. Body cameras and dash camera video from one of the five responding agencies “may have recorded portions of the incident,” according to the BCA

I really don't know why police officers are so quick with drawing their guns. Can't they physically subdue him? I remember first time I, and many, were introduced to taser was at John Kelly appearance at a university someplace. I was thinking then - why can't supposedly strong physically fit police officers - four of them - just grab him by hands and feet?

Or, granted, I've never faced an out of control individual who may be armed, but to they have to shoot to kill?

Agreed ... multiple trained PO's should be able to subdue a 16yo w/o having to shoot him ... mr_lebowski Jul 2018 #1
I understand shooting to kill if they're going to shoot. What we need is some kind of on-call WhiskeyGrinder Jul 2018 #2

And that's true even if he is armed with a bat or even a knife.

If the tasers don't work, try macing his ass ... SOMETHING will work and give them the window they need to apprehend him with minimal threat to their lives.

Thing is, they won't even risk the SLIGHTEST chance they get hurt in any way, cause their bodies are SO MUCH more valuable than than the LIVES ... of some non-cop.
