Got an application for absentee ballot

Not sure. I prefer to vote in person but, I suppose, these days..

1. I did too, but I am in Oregon and everyone does it. Very easy, the whole process. I am a believer

now. Especially that who knows what it is like next fall and I do not want to miss my vote.

It's a very nice process. You don't get to wear your "I VOTED" sticker proudly on your lapel, but you can sit at your kitchen table with a cup of tea (or a glass of wine ) and think about your choices. You can take your time reading about the propositions and local issues. I highly recommend VBM!

8. Oregon has had VBM for several years now, no?

This is just a request for a ballot. Several years ago we were going out of town in mid October back a week later but just in case. We went to our city Hall and voted there, city clerk got all the signatures etc.

Even in CA once, I had the absentee ballot but hand carried it to the county registrar.

3. I filled mine out and sent it back.

4. We voted absentee yesterday.

The instructions were a mess, we have never done it before and in Oklahoma they normally want you to get your ballot notarized but because of COVID they are allowing you to send in a copy of your id. The State Supreme court said the notarization requirement was illegal but the state senate put it back in because of "rampant voter fraud", right.

5. Who was on the ballot?

We have yet to have our primaries..

6. Our primary was in March. This was something else.

We had an initiative to fund rural hospitals and primary for US Senate, we voted for Abby Broyles. It is so weird down here in Oklahoma, they have tons of elections rather than putting them all on two one in spring and fall. We have to pay attention or we miss one.

7. I never understood the great need some people have to vote 3 or 6 months in advance

things can and do change. It's not just the president, but innumerable races down ballot, and judicial ones on the other side. And not all races are D vs. R, plenty of city and local and judges are "non-partisan", though I try to ferret out their leanings from Google searches, I can't always find enough info. And of course in primaries (which Minnesota has in August for non-presidential candidates -- we had our presidential primary on Super Tuesday March 3), it's never D vs. R. And candidates dropping out or getting into some scandal happens often enough to be wary about voting way in advance.

9. For judges, this is a great place to find about them.

I never knew what happened to the absentee ballots in the presidential primaries. After all, Klobuchar dropped just a day earlier, so I was glad that I waited to vote in person.
