Does anyone in the DFL keep count on who mailed ballots?

Several weeks ago both of us sent for ballots and only yesterday finally filled and mailed them.

Today both of us received invitations to request ballots. So I wonder whether anyone looks at the white envelopes which do have the name and address and if loyal voters have yet to turn their ballots, they send a friendly reminder.

Just curious. Took us a bit longer to determine which county commissioner would be less rabid. This is Jeff Johnson's seat.

3. I requested a ballot on-line, and got it in about 10 days.

Not too long after that, I received in the mail a form I could use to request a ballot, which I didn't use because I already had my ballot. The form, which was partly filled out with my information, came from the Center for Voter Information in St. Paul, but the return envelope was addressed to the Minneapolis Elections & Voter Services (the same address as on the envelope I got along with the other forms in response to my on-line request). I was skeptical about the unsolicited ballot request form but it's legit and not a scam:

The reason Minnesota voters might get a document like this is pretty basic. Under state law, your voter information — including your name, your address and how often you vote — is public information that can actually be purchased from the state of Minnesota.

Gelms (the Hennepin County Elections Manager) says this particular letter is not a scam and that if the county received this application an absentee ballot would be mailed out.

“We will get it, we will process it, we will send you your ballot,” Gelms said.

According to a group that tracks nonprofits, the Center for Voter Information is a Washington, D.C.-based nonpartisan, nonprofit organization. It says it sends these out to make it convenient for voters.

6. Thanks. Interesting. I don't remember who sent the first solicitation but the second did come from

the DFL. I checked.

I am almost certain that the ballots that we did send went to the Hennepin County... something.

I voted early at Bloomington City Hall. Still considered an absentee ballot (and I still had fill out the request for an absentee ballot) but I cut out waiting for the mail & handed the sealed envelope to the city clerk. I was the only one voting when I got there though a couple came in just as I was finishing.

I was debating of whether to go the Plymouth City Hall - we did this four years ago - but we prefer to limit our contact with as fewer people as we can.
