Hinds Co. Supervisors plan to move Election Commission to old military processing center

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - A former military processing center on State Street could soon be home to the Hinds County Election Commission.

On Monday, the Board of Supervisors approved work on the facility at 664 S. State St. to make it ready for the move and hired IMS Engineers to determine the scope of work needed to do so.

The board also voted to rename the building the “Hinds County Administrative Offices.”

Once work is completed, the building will house the Election Commission and some elements of the Hinds County Sheriff’s Department.
