Missouri voters can request absentee ballots for November election
Starting September 24, voters can cast absentee ballots at the St. Louis County Board of Elections office in St. Ann. From October 22, thirteen additional satellite sites will open for no-excuse absentee voting. St. Louis City residents can vote at various libraries and the City Election Board office. Jefferson County offers in-person absentee voting at the County Clerk’s Office in Hillsboro, while St. Charles County provides options at the Election Authority office and Element Church in Wentzville.
Key Deadlines
October 9: Last day to register to vote
October 23: Deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail (5 p.m.)
November 4: Final day for in-person absentee voting (5 p.m.)
Absentee Voting Requirements
Before October 22, St. Louis County voters need a valid excuse to vote absentee, such as being absent on Election Day or having a disability. After October 22, no excuse is required. St. Charles County has similar rules, with no-excuse voting starting two weeks before the election.
Jefferson County allows absentee voting six weeks prior to the election for those unable to vote on Election Day. All jurisdictions require valid photo identification, such as a Missouri driver’s license, passport, or military ID.
