St. Louis County Executive Sam Page (D) will not seek re-election

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – It was announced Thursday morning that St. Louis County Executive Sam Page will not seek re-election when his term is over in 2027.

Page has served in his role for seven years. In a statement explaining his decision, he claimed that political leaders now prioritize brining someone down or making headlines rather than having courage to stand up for the right things.

“We need more leaders with the courage to say no to the circus and yes to the work. Leaders who understand that real strength isn’t about being the loudest voice in the room—it’s about being the most effective,” he said. “I want to ask something of all of you: Don’t give up on the idea that doing the right thing still matters. Don’t let cynicism win. The world needs more people willing to serve others, to solve problems, to put community ahead of conflict.”
