(GREAT FALLS) Grizzly bears are increasingly making their presence known along the Rocky Mountain Front, and some of them are making appearances on video.
Kelly Hodgskiss set up a camera recently on property between Choteau and Augusta.
On Monday, she shared a video clip on Facebook showing eight grizzly bears traveling together. A couple of the bears seemed intrigued by the camera and gave it a good inspection.
Kelly wrote: "It took me a month to catch them in the day. I almost took it down last night but gave it one more try!"

(24,069 posts)Weve had two documented grizzly sightings a mile from my house this summer. You know winter is coming when the bears 🐻 start moving about.

(24,069 posts)and drive to Choteau and neighboring Freezeout Lake a few times a year to see the snow geese and swan migrations...I love it there! Its one of my favorite places in Montana. The view of the eastern front is beyond breathtaking. What a wonderful place to grow up.

(6,831 posts)I live in Whatcom County - we're 10 miles from the Canadian border - and there are black bears all over. They never cause any trouble. They eat berries and such. But I have had to stop the car and let them scamper across the road from time to time.
