7 reportedly dead in 'devastating' crash in New Hampshire

RANDOLPH, N.H. — Seven people are dead and two others injured after a pickup truck was involved in a crash with multiple motorcycles on Route 2 Friday night, according to NECN news.

Witnesses described a “devastating” scene as bystanders tried to help.

State police declined to release details Friday evening about how the accident occurred, but a photo posted by WMUR-TV showed motorcycles and wreckage scattered across the highway and a truck on the shoulder in flames.

Jerry Hamanne, co-owner of a nearby bed-and-breakfast that was hosting one of the bikers in the group, said he and a doctor also staying at his inn went to the scene to help. Others tried to assist as best they could.

RANDOLPH, N.H. —
Scotty Swann is at a loss for words -- still in shock over what happened to his fellow Marines on Friday night on Route 2 in Randolph.

The Marine veterans, who are members of the Jarheads Motorcycle Club, were among the seven killed in a crash involving their motorcycles and truck. Police say the truck was traveling west on Route 2 before it collided with the motorcycles traveling east.

Swann said members of the motorcycle club had just left their hotel for an event at the American Legion.

RANDOLPH, N.H. —
Officials have identified the driver of a pickup truck involved in a crash in Randolph on Friday that killed seven motorcyclists.

Volodoymyr Zhukovskyy, 23, of West Springfield, Massachusetts, was behind the wheel of a 2016 Dodge 2500 with an attached trailer, officials said at a press conference. Zhukovskyy is not currently facing any charges, but officials said the crash remains under investigation.

Several of the motorcyclists involved were Marine veterans and members of the Jarheads Motorcycle Club.

The seven victims have not been identified. Three others were injured, and two of them have been released from the hospital.

The National Transportation Safety Board has joined the investigation.
